Melissa and Robert – 16 May 2018

When we heard Melissa and Roberts fairy tale love story, we knew that we just had to be part of their happily ever after. They met when Melissa was 8yrs old and Robert 13. Their eyes locked and they knew... this is it... they were destined to be together forever.

Melissa and Robert celebrated their nuptials with a pagan wedding ceremony, which included their Hand-fasting, sand ceremony and Honeyed Kiss.

We are so happy to have found two of the most awesome ladies to officiate and bless our coming together and sharing in our eternal unity. We could not have asked for two greater souls to be part of one of our many life times. These gals brought peace, tranquility, joy and ever lasting love to two rekindled souls.

We could not have asked for a more perfect couple to bring us together and because of them two souls will live on to find one another in the next life time and the life times ever after.

Thank you so much for making us part of your lives, you will forever be a part of ours.

Lots of big hugs and xxxx

Ariell and Gareth – 15 February 2018

Non-religious, non-conventional, and intimate

A new family, living in a foreign land, wanting a non-religious and non-conventional, intimate wedding on the beach with their families...

Ariell and Gareth planned their wedding celebration with us, all the way from a small village in China where they both teach English. We were thrilled when the big day finally arrived and everything went perfectly. Even the Cape Town weather played along, making this, the perfect beach wedding for our couple.

Symi and Ava took our dream for our wedding ceremony and made it a reality. Our wedding ceremony was so deeply personal, it involved our guests and was the exact fit for us.

Thank you again Symi and Ava, we love you xxx

Karel and Michelle – 22 December 2017

A beautiful Summers day in December 2017, gave Karel and Michelle the opportunity for their simple wedding officiation at our home, with their daughters as witnesses

Michelle & Karel Muizenberg

We were not on our first marriages and we really just wanted the formalities to be done without any fuss, Symi officiated a laid back ceremony at their home. Symi and Ava were so welcoming, bringing my husband and me and our witnesses into their home and making us feel like valued friends. We were completely at ease and recommend them to everyone who is thinking about getting hitched.

Thank you Symi and Ava. x

Alice and Ivan – 12 Feb 2018

Alice and Ivan wanted a no fuss, no mess, simple wedding ceremony. So, that, is exactly what we did. With their besties to witness, we tied the knot for the two, after which they went to celebrate their marriage on the Breede river with all their friends over a long weekend. These two are now excitedly travelling Europe as part of their honeymoon.

After doing a brief search for marriage officers able to perform 'non-religious' marriage ceremonies, Google and fate led us to Ava and Symi. Meeting them felt like meeting old friends and they were wonderfully warm and welcoming and provided us with exactly what we asked for - a simple officiation ceremony with as little fuss as possible. They were also extremely helpful when it came to dealing with the paperwork. We were so happy to deal with the lovely dreaded Symi rather the dreaded Department of Home Affairs! I would definitely recommend them to anyone looking for a marriage officer.

Darren and Ines – 3 Feb 2018

A destination wedding to die for. Our fun couple, Darren and Ines (or shall we say Panda and Koala), celebrated their wedding in Saldanha, on the West Coast of South Africa. Their celebration lasted 4 days, with the beach wedding, fitting in perfectly with their sparkling personalities.

The weather was perfect, the couple radiant, the guests (which included friends and family from Switzerland) in the mood for love and party. We created a special shell blessing for them, incorporating a wide variety of local seashells with specific meanings. After completing the wedding ceremony and Hand Fasting on the lovely lawn overlooking the crystal blue ocean, everyone meandered down to the beach where shells were tossed into the big blue.

Wherever our couples feet land, the blessings of the little shells will go with them, carried from continent to continent on the currents of the Atlantic ocean.

Dear Symi and Ava, we can't thank you enough for the most beautiful and amazing ceremony possible. You both made our special day even more special and unforgettable. We also want to thank you for helping us to prepare for the day, for getting our vows done and for making us feel comfortable and more relaxed before the day and during the ceremony. Your personalities and passion for your job make both of you the best choice for any wedding.
We hope to see you again next time we are in Cape Town.
Sending you lots of love and hugs from Switzerland! Darren and Ines

Keenan and Chantal – 22 April 2018

Our beautiful couple, Keenan and Chantal, celebrated their outdoor wedding at Groenvlei Guesthouse, in the Cape Winelands.

Groenvlei Guest Farm, Bottelary

“We simply cannot thank Ava and Symie enough for all their wonderful kind words, advice, support and love in the build up to our wedding day. Our ceremony was intimate and beautiful and left everyone in awe. We had an amazing candle and ring blessing with our parents and a Chocolate tasting. I will definitely recommend Tie the knot Cape Town to anyone. They went the extra mile with a smile on their face and no hesitation and still kept in touch with us after the wedding 🙂

Thank you for everything! Keenan and Chantal Poole

Brendan and Marita – 13 July 2018

Weddings are not always big lavish affairs and full ceremonies. Some couples opt to Tie the knot by simply having an elopement wedding with only the legal side of the marriage being officiated. Brendan and Marita did just that.

With close family being the witnesses to the happily ever after, we tied the knot for them at our home office. Needless to say, a lot fun and laughter was shared by everyone.

Dear Ava and Symi,

We just wanted thank you both so much for officiating our marriage yesterday, and for being amazing people and hosts! You made it very special, warm, and memorable! 🙂

Thank you soooo much!

Warmest regards and hugs,
Brendan & Marita (15 July 2018)

Alexandra and Warren – 10 March 2018

A magical wedding, surrounded by Beautiful vineyards, made Alexandra and Warren’s destination wedding in Riebeeck Kasteel a breathtaking experience.

“So honoured to have had Warren and my union solidified by Symi and Ava. They have both been so supportive and inspirational all the way through. Thank you for sharing in our special day and making it a blissful reality. “Alexandra and Warren Uytenboogardt

Ken and Tau – 14 May 2018

Ken met Tau while overseas and the magic between the two of them was instantaneous. When they approached us for an intimate backyard wedding, we just couldn’t say no. We celebrated with a traditional tea pouring ceremony and unity candle ritual for the couple. Tau wore a traditional wedding dress to celebrate her heritage and Ken was too smitten  for words. A beautiful, perfect day, celebrated their way.

The most amazing day of our lives was shared with Ava and Symie from Tie The Knot.

From the moment we arrived it was evident that we were going to have a wonderful and memorable ceremony. Our favourite song was playing as my beautiful wife walked into the room and we said our vows to each other. We felt at home and at ease throughout our special day.
Thank you Ava and Symie for the attention to detail and efforts to make our wedding something that we will cherish for the rest of our lives!

Love Ken and Thao

Nicholas and Natasha – 22 Feb 2018

A Vet and a Marine Biologist getting married on a white, sandy beach, was the ultimate wedding celebration for Nic and Natasha. A year in planning, we worked with the two of them, preparing and writing their beautiful ceremony that truly reflected their individuality and celebrated their relationship. Beach wedding ceremonies are always tons of fun for us. Guests get to play with their feet in the sand and sometimes you end up with a bucket on your head…

As a bride and groom that didn’t enjoy planning, Ava and Symi were one part of the day that we didn’t have to worry about at all.

We couldn’t have asked for better, kinder or funnier humans to send us off to married life. Ava and Symi lead us through all of the admin, calmed us down before the big day and crafted a beautiful ceremony that was personal and perfect.

Thank you for making our day amazing, love Nick and Tash xxxx
